Brouhaha Over K’dua NPP Primaries

Printing of campaign posters and T-shirts by one of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) aspiring (MPs) for the Koforidua constituency, is causing a lot of confusion among the electorate in the constituency.

The aspiring MP, Madam Beatrice Bernice Boateng, (a.k.a. BBB) has defied the NPP constitution and gone ahead to paste her posters and distribute her T-shirts to supposed followers in Koforidua, while no date had been fixed for primaries to elect a candidate.

The New Juaben South constituency, otherwise known as the Koforidua constituency, has never been a very difficult constituency for any political party in terms of campaigns and rallies since it is a one town 50 mile square constituency from Prisons Park to Adweso.

This constituency has ever remained the stronghold of the Danquah/Busia or the NPP since 1992 up to date. Indications on the wall are that nothing will change much, so the NPP would once again win in Koforidua.

But The Chronicle’s current investigation indicates that if the NPP failed to resolve the internal wranglings in Koforidua being caused by (BBB)’s activities, it may cost the party, the December election.

Rumours doing the rounds in the NPP circles is that she is secretly behind the legal tussle between the dissolved constituency executives and the regional executives which, situation is preventing the party from conducting its early primary.

Meanwhile, The Chronicle has received a complaint about her attempt to impersonate the New Juaben Municipal Chief Executive Nana Adjei Boateng and abscond with the allowance due him for a workshop he did not attend.

Investigations reveal that it all happened at GIMPA on April 3 – 7 this year when the Institute of Democratic Governance held a workshop.
