Brong/Ahafo Regional Hospital receives equipment

Dr Jacob Abebrese, Medical Director of the Brong-Ahafo Regional Hospital has appealed to individuals and benevolent organization to assist health institutions with medical equipment to promote quality health care services.

He stated that government alone could not afford the acquisition of modern equipment which were needed by health institutions to work efficiently to save lives.

Dr Abebrese made the appeal in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) on Monday in Sunyani after receiving quantities of health equipment from Worae Care and Vumc Medical Centre in Holland.

Cost of the shipment, valued at about GH¢40,000.00 was borne by Santova Logistic in Holland

The items included blood Bank refrigerators, face mask, assorted surgical gloves, medical drawers and disposable gloves.

The rest were assorted catheters, gauze swaps, syringe and needles, paediatric section tubes and oxygen face mask.

He expressed the Hospital’s appreciation to the donors and promised that the items would be put to good use to ensure quality health care service delivery in the Region.

Dr. Abebrese said the equipment would help to reduce the Hospital’s equipment and logistics challenges and also contribute in saving the lives of many patients referred to the facility.
