Brong-Ahafo presbyters end biennial delegates’ conference

Goaso (B/A), Jan 13, GNA – Brong-Ahafo presbyters ended their 31st biennial delegates’ conference with a special thanksgiving service at the Trinity Presbyterian Church at Goaso last Sunday. Ninety-one delegates from 27 districts attended the four-day conference, which had as its theme, “That They All May Be One”. They discussed strategies to train more people to do evangelism work, considered to be the most important activity of a Christian church.

Preaching the sermon, the acting chairperson of the Brong-Ahafo Presbytery, Reverend Robert Brobbey, said in every human endeavour, unity played a major role and called on the presbyters to team up with Reverend Ministers to bring the congregation together. He said unity played a key role in nation building, in the community, in the church, at workplace and in the family, adding that, when there was unity, there was peace and development.

Rev Brobbey, who is also in-charge of Bechem district of the church, said the Brong-Ahafo presbytery was 40 years this year but it was sad to note that, the total membership of the church, comprising 27 districts was less than 600,000 and urged the church leaders to plan and organize activities that may attract others to join the church.
