Brochure error beyond ‘printer’s devil’ – Greenstreet

The flagbearer of the Convention People’s Party (CPP), Ivor Kobina Greenstreet, has described the error-riddled brochure distributed during Ghana’s 59th Independence Day celebration as an administrative failure by the Mahama-led administration.

“There are so many things that didn’t go on as it should have, and these can’t be glossed over by printer’s devil. It is far more fundamental than that, so, if the issue is of substance, you can’t cover it up,” he pointed out in an interview with Class FM’s Paa Kwesi Parker-Wilson on Tuesday 15 March, 2016.

The brochure faux pas brought international shame and embarrassment to the nation amidst public ridicule on social media.

Even though the acting director of the Information Services Department (ISD), Francis Kwarteng Arthur has been sacked, some Ghanaians still believe a lot more should be done by the president to end the matter.

Mr Greenstreet has charged the president to take necessary steps to bring a proper closure to the matter.

“It should be dealt with, in order to have a proper closure and not swept under the carpets,” he explained.

To him, the mistake could be repeated if adequate measures are not taken to “deal with it head-on, and clear the matter”.

He said he is not entirely satisfied with government’s handling of the case and suggests that a “full investigation” be conducted.

“This, and so many other cases, we wish for a full disclosure, but don’t always get what we want, and that helps us decide how we are going to vote, if you are constantly denied what you want,” Mr Greenstreet added.
