Bring to light areas that cry for development in the north – media told

Wa, February 1, GNA – Mr. Abdul -Karim Kipo, President of the Northern Students Union has appealed to the Ghanaian media to help bring to light various areas of Northern Ghana that are marginalised in terms of development.

He said Ghanaian media had been silent about the inadequacies in development allocation, provision of potable water, electricity, health facilities and good roads as well as other social amenities that could help make life bearable for the people.

“Similarly, some areas in the north are endowed with natural resources and tourist potential yet the media have not reported about them.

“Is it enough to say ‘Bawku people are fighting and economic activities in the area stagnating and remain mute after the said fighting has given way to peace and development?”, Mr. Kipo asked.
