Bribery saga: I never gave Ayariga money – Muntaka

Minority Chief Whip Muntaka Mubarak Mohammed has denied giving Bawku Central MP and other Minority MPs cash to induce them to approve Energy Minister-designate Boakye Agyarko.

“I never gave Ayariga any money,” Muntaka said on the Big Issues on Citi FM on Saturday January 28.

He further swore by Allah on Multi TV to make his point.

“I am a Muslim, Ayariga is a Muslim, and I am swearing by Allah that has created him and I, I never gave Ayariga anything that it was coming from Osei Owusu,” the Asawase MP stated.

“Osei Owusu has never given any money to me, he has never given me any money to be given to Ayariga. I have never given Ayariga any money saying that it was coming from the Chairman and that is all that I will say.

“We are in the leadership and I think the leadership has to take this matter up. I don’t know where Ayariga is getting this information from. We ourselves had agreed that we never were going to take any dime from anybody; that is all that I will tell you.”
