Brazilian President visits Ghana on Tuesday

Accra, April 10, GNA – President Luis Inacio Lula da Silva of Brazil is to pay a two-day official visit to Ghana from April 12 to 13. A statement signed by Mr Kwabena Agyei Agyepong, the Press Secretary to the President, said the visit is at the invitation of President John Agyekum Kufuor.

The two leaders, the statement said, would hold bilateral talks on a wide range of issues of mutual concern to both countries of which trade, commerce and economic matters would top the agenda.

It said President Inacio Lula da Silva would be the special guest of honour at a state banquet to be hosted by President Kufuor. At the banquet President Kufuor will decorate the Brazilian

President with Ghana’s highest national award, the statement said. President Inacio Lula da Silva would be the first Brazilian President to visit Ghana since the South American country was founded in 1889.
