Brakwa (C/R), July 11, GNA – The Brakwa Breman Rural Bank last year granted loans totaling 7.46 billion cedis to customers who are mostly traders and farmers as against 2.61 billion cedis in 2003. Mr P. C. Arthur, the Supervising Manager of the bank, told the GNA in an interview at Brakwa that the bank also gave out a total of 4.740 million cedis special loans to women.

He appealed to non-customers to join the bank to enable them to benefit from such facilities.

Mr. E.K.A. Ohene, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the bank, urged shareholders to increase their shares to enable the bank to improve its capital.

He said a new scheme called “School Feeding” is on course for women to help them to maintain their children and wards in school and urged those interested to contact the bank. 11 July 05
