Boys Brigade holds Pre-Valentine Rout March

Accra, Feb. 11, GNA – The youth have been advised against indulging in anti-social acts during this year’s Valentine Day celebrations so as not to ruin their future life. Mr Laud Augustus Ashong, Accra Central District Chairman of the Boys Brigade made the call at the end of a pre-Valentine Route March held in Accra on Saturday.

The march, which started from the Calvary Methodist Church at Adabraka through the Trades Union Congress, ended at the Wesley Methodist Church at Palladium. The Cathedral Church of the Most Holy Trinity, Wesley Methodist, Freeman Methodist, Calvary Methodist, Official Town Presby, Resurrection Presby, All Saints Anglican and Ernest Bruce Methodist Churches took part in the march.

The march was aimed at sensitizing the youth on the need to abstain from casual sex during the Valentine festivities. Mr Ashong condemned the situation where some youth took advantage of the festivities of the Valentine celebrations to indulge in sex, describing it as a venture that does not augur well for their proper development and advised the youth to desist from such practices. He said the essence of Valentine is to express your love and appreciation to each other but does not mean one should indulge in indiscriminate sex during the period since such indulgence can ruin one’s life, he stressed.

Mr Ashong called on the youth to take their education seriously and also take active interest in sports so that they remain healthy at all times. 11 Feb. 07
