Boy electrocuted while remounting TV antennae

Juaben (Ash), April 18, GNA – A teenager, Sanunu Salifu, was on Thursday electrocuted by an electricity cable at Juaben in the Ejisu-Juaben Municipality of Ashanti. The Salifu, 18 was in the process of remounting a bamboo television antenna when the incident occurred.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Francis Awuah, the Municipal Police commander, told the Ghana News Agency that on that fateful day the deceased was contracted by one Ebenezer Atitso to remount his television antenna which fell as a result of a rainstorm which hit the town the previous night. He said, in the process of fixing the antenna, the improvised

bamboo pole which had trapped some rain water fell on a live electricity

cable and got electrified, killing Salifu. DSP Awuah said the body has since been deposited at the Komfo A nokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) morgue for autopsy, adding that, Atitso has also been arrested by the police to help with investigations.
