Boy, 16, dies after trying to kill his father spiritually

A sixteen-year-old boy, named Akwasi Atta at Whiremoase in the Adansi North District of the Ashanti Region died on Tuesday after trying to kill his own father spiritually.

Father of the deceased, Yaw Abass 39, expressed shock why his biological son will want him dead when he had not wronged him in anyway.

Mr Abass, explained that while returning home from his usual rounds recently, he felt he had been hit by a big stick, he turned round to see who had attacked him but there was no one around, but later realized the attack was spiritual. He said he collapsed after the attack and was carried home by some good Samaritans.

He narrated that from then he started feeling a lot of pain his body, so his constant complaint saw him being sent to a pastor for prayers. He said the pastor after prayers asked him to call his wife and children to come to his church premises.

Mr Abass continued that when his family arrived, the pastor asked if any of them had knowledge about his (Abass) predicament, following which they all denied having anything to do with his sufferings.

“The Pastor gave us water to bathe and prayed for me and further gave me protection. After one month my son complained of pains in his hand, his hand kept swelling by the day until it burst. I asked him what had happened to his hand and he said he didn’t know. I was told by another pastors that my son had been bitten by a snake spiritually and that he could only be cured spiritually. While his condition worsened, I asked him to confess if there was anything bad he’d done so that we could quickly act to save him, and to my utmost surprise, my son pleaded that I forgive him as he’s sinned against me.

“He told me he was a wizard and was responsible for all the problems I’ve been going through in life. He confessed that he was the one who hit me with a stick for me to die so he inherits me, saying he doesn’t like my wife who’s his step mother and wanted me to die so that the woman leaves the house.

After confessing, I forgave him of his sins and a day after my son died,” Mr Abass noted.
