Boy, 15, remanded in prison custody for murder

Mankranso (Ash), July 11, GNA- The Mankranso Magistrate’s court has remanded a 15-year-old boy from Biemso Number Two in the Ahafo-Ano South District of Ashanti for allegedly causing the murder of a 13-year-old JSS pupil.

He was alleged to have butchered Kwame Agyeman, the pupil, with a cutlass during a fight.

His plea was not taken and he would re-appear before the court on July 15.

Police Inspector Carl Michael Adjeng told the court that on June 28, the deceased permitted the accused to use his bicycle for a short ride but he kept it for several hours.

He said this made Agyeman angry because as he was afraid of going home without the bicycle. Mr Adjeng said when the accused brought the bicycle back a quarrel ensued between them and this generated into a fight.

The mother of the accused intervened and took his son home. However, on the way, he freed himself from the mother and run home to pick a cutlass.

He then chased Agyeman and when he caught up with him, he slashed the leg and died on the way to hospital.
