Boy, 14, butchered by Mother

A 14-year-old boy at Adum in Kumasi has suffered severe hand wounds after his mother, allegedly, cut him several times with a blade.

The boy, whose name was only given as Kwabena, was said to have suffered his ordeal after he allegedly stole his mother’s GHc 11 on Monday morning.

Awura Ama Agyeman, the mother, reportedly, tied the boy’s hands and legs with rope, which made it impossible for him to move.

The blood-thirsty mother, shockingly, then started cutting the poor boy’s hands with the sharp blade, compelling him to cry bitterly.

Awura Ama, was said to be so angry that she would not listen to incessant please by people in the house as she vented her spleen on the poor boy.

Mallam Yahaya of Kessben FM, who happens to be at the scene, said it took the intervention of a policeman who was passing-by for the boy to be saved.

He said the boy, who was bleeding profusely, was rushed to the hospital while the policeman whisked Awura Ama away to the police station for questioning.

Mallam Yahaya said Kwabena indeed confessed to his mother that he was the one who stole the GHc 11.

He noted that the boy’s confession seemed to have angered his mother, who decided to teach him a bitter lesson, hence inflicting multiple blade cuts on him.

Mallam Yahaya said people at the scene claimed that Awura Ama was fond of beating Kwabena mercilessly anytime the poor boy erred.

He however indicated that the people expressed surprise at Awura Ama’s weird decision of tying the boy with ropes and cutting him with blade.
