Bowiri Amanfro gets new traditional rulers

Bowiri Amanfro, May 6, GNA – Mr. John Kwabena Ampah, a 73-year old retired Educationist, has been enstooled as

Krontihene of Bowiri Amanfro, in the Biakoye District of the Volta Region, under the stool name Nana Tuaprem Amenfi

Ampah II. Nana Ampah, clad in white and blue traditional cloth, swore the oath of allegiance to Okatakyie Nana Kwame Adom

V, Omanhene of the Bowiri Traditional Area, at Bowiri Amanfro. The new chief acknowledged cheers from the ecstatic crowd amidst traditional drumming and dancing. Nana Ampah called on the people to unite and rekindle their communal spirit, which according to him was the only

way the area could develop. Okatakyie Adom advised the Krontihene to co-operate with the people and colleague chiefs to facilitate the progress of the area. He asked Bowiri Amanfro traditional rulers to unite and pool resources to tackle poverty, illiteracy, ignorance and

diseases affecting the people. Madam Augester Abra Attubea, a 36-year trader, was also enstooled as Krontihema of Bowiri Amanfro, under the

stool name Nana Amenfiwa Attubea I. Nana Attubea swore the oath of allegiance to Nana Ampedua I, Queen mother of Bowiri. Nana Attubea noted that education formed the foundation for development of every community, and advised parents

to refrain from profligate lifestyle and invest in the education of their children to enable them to acquire skills and

knowledge required for development. Nana Ampedua called on the people to stop domestic violence and other human right violations. She also cautioned the youth against social vices such as drug abuse, alcoholism and teenage pregnancy.
