Botwe urges youth associations to unite

Accra, July 27, GNA – Members of youth associations, have been called upon to unite to initiate and execute development projects. Mr Dan Botwe, General Secretary of the NPP, made the call at the annual Fundraising Harvest of the Boso Youth Association (BYA) in Accra. He said the situation where members of associations were at each other’s throat did not augur well for smooth implementation and execution of programmes.

Mr Botwe said unity played a vital role in the socio-economic development of the nation and urged them to stay united at all times. The NPP General Secretary commended members of BYA for their self-help and communal spirit and urged traditional rulers in the area to desist from engaging in chieftaincy disputes to enable them to celebrate the’ Odwedi’ Festival slated for September this year, in a peaceful atmosphere.

Mr E Obiri-Yeboah, Chairman, said the Association was contributing 27 million cedis out of an estimated 270 million cedis, for the expansion of the Boso Clinic and called on non-resident citizens to contribute meaningfully to the development of the town. An amount of 22.5 million cedis was realised in an appeal for funds.
