Bosomtwe Rural Bank awards 34.2 million-cedi scholarship

Kuntanase (Ash), Sept 16, GNA – The Bosomtwe Rural Bank in the Ashanti Region, last year, disbursed 34.2 million-cedis as scholarships to six students to enable them to complete their education. The beneficiaries, children of shareholders of the bank, were students of the Opoku Ware Secondary School, Prempeh College, Kumasi Academy and Toase Secondary School.

Mr Francis Azaglo, Supervising Manager of the bank, on Tuesday told the GNA at Kuntanase that the gesture was in fulfillment of the bank’s social responsibility aimed at developing education in the catchment area. He said the bank had so far supported 24 other children of shareholders to complete their education since the scholarship was established 10 years ago.

Mr Azaglo said the bank had also provided a set of tracksuit for the district’s basic school sports team, sponsored the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) constitutional week programme in the area and built school buildings.
