Bosomtwe DISEC tours Biometric Registration Centres

Members of the Bosomtwe District Security Council (DISEC) have toured biometric voter registration centres in the area to acquaint themselves with the situation in the area.

Led by the District Chief (DCE), Mr Edward Nti-Berko, they visited Nnuaso, Apinkra, Abuontem, Oyoko, Sawua, Homabenase, Kokodei, Edwinase, Anyinatiase, Asuoho-Adwafo, Abaase, Krom-Adwafo and Kuntanase.

This came barely 72 hours to the close of the exercise and the Council expressed satisfaction with the progress of the registration.

The members gave high marks to the registration officials for the good job done and called on all to remain alert to protect the integrity of the new electoral roll and ensure that unqualified persons including minors and foreigners do not take part.

Dr Joe Oteng-Adjei, the Energy Minister, who joined the DISEC members, appealed to the people to avoid any activities likely to mar the smooth and peaceful conduct of the registration, and urged them to accept to tolerate and accommodate each other despite their political differences.

“Ghana is a peaceful nation so let us maintain the peace”, he added.

The Minister gave the assurance that the government would provide the Electoral Commission (EC) with the needed logistics for the successful organization of the December polls.**
