It is one of the initiatives of the National Malaria Control Programme (NMCP) with support from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).

Mr Bernard Bediako Badu, a Pharmacist at the Kuntanase Government Hospital, told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that 2,269 nets were given to pregnant women, whiles children under the age of five years, receiving a total of 8,744.
