Bosomtwe-Atwima-Kwanwoma District owes SIF 60 million cedis

Kuntanase (Ash), Aug 31, GNA- The Social Investment Fund (SIF) has blacklisted the Bosomtwe-Atwima-Kwanwoma District in Ashanti because 10 communities owe the Fund, 60 million cedis.

The amount represents the communities’ counterpart funding for cost of projects SIF completed for them last year.

Madam Amma Nyarko Jectey, the SIF District Officer, in an interview with the Ghana News Agency at Kuntanase on Monday said SIF would commence micro financing of projects in October this year, after a long break due to the crisis in Cote d’Ivoire.

She said the communities whose arrears ranged from one million to 13 million cedis would benefit from SIF projects only after completing the payment of the debt.

She therefore, appealed to communities to pay their debts to enable others to benefit.
