Bosomtwe-Atwima-Kwanwoma assembly inaugurated

Kuntanase-Ashanti, Oct. 31, GNA – Mr Andrews Adjei-Yeboah, Deputy Minister of Lands, Forestry and Mines on Monday inaugurated the Bosomtwe-Atwima-Kwanwoma District Assembly at Kuntanase. The 72-member assembly has 48 elected and 24 government appointees. Mr Adjei-Yeboah cautioned the members to avoid seeking their personal interest at the expense of the electorate.

He called on them to intensify their efforts at enhancing revenue mobilisation to complement Government’s efforts instead of relying on the District Assemblies Common Fund, HIPC and GETFUND for their development.

The Deputy Minister urged the members to co-operate with the District Chief Executive to achieve their common goal of developing the area.

He announced that plans were far advanced to introduce sanitation courts in the country.

Mr Bright Addai-Mununkum, Bosomtwe-Atwima-Kwanwoma District Chief Executive, cautioned members to seek clarification from his office on issues that worried them instead of peddling allegations. The assembly re-elected Mr Albert Marfo, an educationist as the Presiding Member.
