Book of Condolence on Pontiff opens

Accra, April 4, GNA – The Catholic Church of Ghana would from Tuesday April 5 to Monday April 11 open a Book of Condolence at the Apostolic Nunciature at Number 8 Drake Avenue, Airport Residential Area, in Accra in memory of His Holiness Pope John Paul II.

A statement issued by the Apostolic Nunciature in Ghana on Monday said the book would be opened from 0900 hours to 13 hours every day except Thursday April 7.

It said a requiem mass would be celebrated by the Ghana Catholic Bishops’ Conference on Thursday April 7 at the Holy Spirit Cathedral in Accra at 1000 hours.

The statement said all Bishops in Ghana would participate in the mass and cordially invited priests, religious and the laity to attend the liturgical celebration and pray for the Pontiff. The Pope, who died last Saturday, would be buried on Friday.
