Book of Condolence for Juan Almeida open

Accra, Sept. 15, GNA – The Cuban Embassy in Accra has opened a Book of Condolence for Juan Almeida Bosque, one of the Vice-presidents of the Council of State of Cuba, who died in Havana, Cuba, last Friday. A statement issued in Accra on Tuesday said the Book of Condolence would be open at the Embassy from September 15-17 from 1000 hours to 1200 hours each day.

The statement said Juan Almeida Bosque would always be “an emblematic figure of the Cuban Revolution”.

It said Almeida, the Commander of the Cuban Revolution, was a direct participant in the first line of combat alongside former President Fidel Castro and President Ra=FAl Castro, as well as a richly creative musician and writer.

The statement said Almeida’s remains would be interred with full military honours in the Mario Mu=F1oz Monroy Mausoleum of the Third Eastern Front, of which he was the founder and chief, on a date to be announced. 15 Sept. 09
