Bonte citizens raise money to finance two projects

Bonte, (B/A) Oct 18, GNA – Residents of Bonte in the Nkoranza District are spending about 500 million cedis towards a primary school project and an electrification programme.

They are building a block of six classrooms with an office and store and have erected 70 low-tension poles for their self-help electrification project.

Nana Krobea-Asante Sarpong 11, the chief of the area and the unit committee chairman Mr Matthew Owusu-Mensah took the GNA round the two projects.

Mr Owusu-Mensah said the people have spent about 150 million cedis on the power project and about 120 million cedis have also gone into the school project.

He was grateful to the Nkoranza District Assembly for donating 100 bags of cement and 20 low-tension poles to supplement the efforts of the community while the Member of Parliament for Nkoranza Mr Hayford Francis Amoako gave 70 bags of cement to support the school project.

Nana Sarpong II praised the youth of the area for their communal labour spirit and commitment towards the success of the projects and commended Nkoranza citizens resident in Italy for contributing 10 million cedis.

Nana Sarpong appealed to the Nkoranza District Assembly to help them with six bundles of roofing sheets to complete the school block.
