Oseadeyor Akumfi Ameyaw IV, Paramount Chief of Techiman Traditional Area the Bono East Regional capital has announced the availability of land for the development of industries, specifically for manufacturing.
Nana Takyi Firi 2nd, Krontire Hene and acting President of Techiman Traditional Council who made this declaration on behalf of the Omanhene during a ground-breaking ceremony to hand over a 50-acre land to Wang Zhe Cement Ghana Ltd to begin the construction of a Cement Manufacturing Factory at New Techiman said they share in the view of the NDC Government’s 24-hr Economy program and are ready to welcome more factories.
The Wang Zhe Cement Ghana Ltd, producers of Empire cement with its headquarters in China and operational in Ivory Coast and Cameroon has been in Ghana for the past six (6) years.
It has a main factory at Weija in Accra and the second factory is set to be constructed in Techiman the Bono East Regional capital and it is expected to give over 1,000 direct jobs through employment of Logistical, Administrative and Technical workers when completed in about ten (10) months.
Nana Takyi Firi used the opportunity to call for more investments to the Techiman Traditional Area to boost the local economy and most importantly create jobs for their teaming youth as Nananom are ever ready to make land accessible for businesses.
For his part, Nana Nkansah Gyimah Brempong 2nd, Odikro of New Techiman while welcoming the Wang Zhe Cement Company to his Community as their presence will bring massive development to the area also called on his people to take advantage to get employment from the construction stage as casual or laborer workers as well as apply to occupy lucrative positions when the factory starts operations.
Meanwhile, Hon. Zachari Mohammed popularly known as ‘Don’t Go There’ the Assembly Member for Tanoso Ahenfie Electoral Area and some Youths of New Techiman expressed their excitement about the coming of the cement manufacturing factory pledging their full support for the Chinese company to succeed.
