Bompeh gets family club

Takoradi July 19, GNA- Mr Isaac Asante, Project Officer of the Planned Parenthood Association of Ghana, has inaugurated a branch of the Family Life Education Club at the Bompeh Secondary Technical School at Bompeh, near Takoradi.

The club is to serve as a forum to address problems facing the youth on reproductive health, drug abuse, juvenile delinquency and youth crime. He stressed that such problems of the youth should be properly addressed as the nation prepares for the next millennium.

Mr Asante called on the Club to promote programmes that would minimise teenage pregnancy and school dropouts.

He urged members of the club to involve the youth in finding solutions to their concerns especially in reproductive health.

The club should find ways of correcting misinformation, peer influence, lack of communication between parents and their children and lack of skills by the youth to make an informed choice.

The Club is expected to achieve its objectives through lectures, drama, symposium, debates, excursion and tree planting.
