Bompata citizens resident in US donate to health centre

Bompata (Ash), July 19, GNA – Citizens of Bompata in the Asante-Akim South district of Ashanti resident in the United States of America on Monday presented health items worth about 45,000 dollars to the Bompata Health Centre.

The items included hospital and theatre beds, mattresses, I.V. stands, examination couches, trolleys, incubators, suction machines and electric collators.

The group is also constructing a block to house a theatre, male and female wards, two outpatients department and stores. Making the presentation on behalf of the group, Mrs Christiana Ward, a member of the group, entreated the centre’s administration to put the items to good use and expressed the hope that they will help to improve health delivery in the district.

Dr Franklin Asiedu Bekoe, the District Director of Health Services, commended the group for their kind gesture and hoped they will continue to support the health centre.

Nana Asante Abu, the Krontihene of Bompata, asked the group to continue to contribute their quota for the development of the town and urged other groups at home and abroad to emulate their gesture. Mrs Mary Mensah, the Medical Assistant in-charge of the health centre, expressed gratitude to the donors for their kind gesture and said the items would be put to good use.
