Bolgatanga NPP elects new leaders

Bolgatanga, Sept. 28, GNA – Delegates of the Bolgatanga Central Constituency of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) on Monday elected a nine-member executive to direct the activities of the Party for the next four years.

The new leaders are Mr. Anerikyema Akapiire, Chairman, Mr Tahiri Abdulai Atibila, First Vice Chairman, Mr Christopher Ayinnebota, Second Vice Chairman, Mr Jerome Abongo, Secretary, and Mr Abgna Richard, Assistant Secretary.

The rest are Mr Apaseyelum Akuta, Youth Organiser, Mrs Mercy Alima Musah, Women’s Organiser and Mrs Veronica Abugum, Treasurer. Mr Akapiire thanked the delegates for the confidence reposed in them and promised that they would work tirelessly to make sure the party wins both the parliamentary and presidential elections in 2008. The Regional Secretary of the Party, Mr Godfred Koyiba, commended the delegates for exhibiting a high sense of maturity during the exercise, saying it was an indication of unity among them. He called on all NPP members and supporters to fight hard to enable the party to retain power in 2008.

Officials from the Bolgatanga Municipal office of the Electoral Commission, led by Mr Abdula Rashid Salifu, conducted the election.
