Bolga gets Chief

Bolgatanga has a chief-elect who will soon be installed as the paramount chief of the area, Counsel and Spokesperson for the Apesenyelum family in the Bolgatanga Traditional Area, John Akparibo Ndebugre, has disclosed.

He added that five out of the seven royal families under the Atulbabisi clan met on Saturday, February 21 and approved a candidate from the Apasenyelum family as a Bolga-Naba elect.

The seven families under the Atulbabisi clan are the Apasenyelum, Agawure, Agbere, Atulbatia, Adogmabaa, Akombosiko and the Agandaa families.

Meanwhile, the President of the Upper East House of Chiefs and Paramount Chief of the Sekoti Traditional Area, Naba Segri Bewong, has come under media criticism for condemning the election of a new chief for the people of Bolgatanga.

Other princes who are opposing an attempt to install the son of the late Bolga-Naba at all cost, DAILY GUIDE has gathered, would vehemently oppose the action, irrespective of consequences.
