Bole DCE elected NPP parliamentary candidate

Bole (N/R), April 15, GNA- Alhaji Sulemana Adams Achanso, Bole District chief Executive was on Saturday elected NPP Parliamentary candidate for the Bole-Bamboi for the 2004 general elections. He pulled 32 votes to beat Mr. Joseph Saaka Akati who had 31 votes out of 66 votes cast.

Madam Salamatu Forgor, the third candidate pulled 3 votes. At Sawla, Mr Joseph Yusif Godwin was also elected as the parliamentary candidate for the newly created Sawla- Kalba constituency with 43 votes as against 31 pulled by Mr Joseph Vugu.

Mr Joseph Janao withdrew his candidature before the election.

Addressing the electorate and other party members at both functions, the Northern Regional Women’s organiser of the NPP, Madam Victoria Nakpo, stressed the need for peace and unity among in order to unseat the incumbent NDC parliamentary candidate Mr. John Mahama.

A member of the regional interim management committee of the party, Sergeant Abudul Karimu Salifu Adams (rtd), urged party members to work hard to ensure a resounding victory in the coming general elections.
