Bole Assembly provides education facilities

Bole (N/R), Aug 11, GNA – The Bole District Assembly has, within the last one-and-a half-years, spent over Ghc 248,000.00 to provide education infrastructure for communities in the district.

The Assembly had under the Social Investment Fund (SIF) constructed a six-unit classroom block comprising an Office, a library and a storeroom for the Kurabaso Primary School at the cost of GHc 80,000.00.

The Assembly also built a three-unit classroom block and office at the cost of GHc 42,000.00 under the District Wide Assistance Project (DWAP) for the Manful community.

Alhaji Seidu Sampson Abudu, Bole District Chief Executive, told newsmen that the Manful Primary School which had replaced a dilapidated structure was built in fulfilment of a campaign promise to the people of the community during the 2008 election.

The Assembly in February also completed the construction of a three-unit classroom block, an office and a store for the Junior High School (JHS) at Kakiase at the cost of Ghc 43,000.00.

The project, which was funded under the DWAP, would serve Aburunku and Konjuma where the pupils had to walk a distance of eight kilometres to either Sawla or Mankuma to attend JHS.

The assembly also built a three-unit classroom block at the cost of GHc 43,000.00 for the Doli community. The project was funded under the Community based Rural Development Programme (CBRDP).

Alhaji Abudu said the Assembly undertook these projects to provide conducive and congenial atmosphere to promote effective learning in schools and also help increase access to education to the majority of the deprived children in the rural communities.

He said as long as funds where available the assembly would continue to improve the educational infrastructure in the district to enhance effective teaching and learning.
