Bofoakwa Tano Wins Play-off

Former premier league club Bofoakwa Tano beat Yeji Stars 3-1 in the division one league play-off at the Prempeh School Park.

The play was due to the rules of the national division one league board which has it that the last but one clubs for the zone 1A and zone 1B plays to determine which club joins the second division for the 2008/2009 season. This means that Bofoakwa Tano wins maintains the club in the national first division for the upcoming league season whereby Yeji Stars is relegated to the second division. Bofoakwa with a lot of determination got the opener through a brilliant header from their skipper Attah Yahaya in the 22nd minutes of the game before ending the first half of the game.

Baba Sulley made it two immediately after the recess when he capitalised on a loose ball from the defence of Yeji Stars.Yeji Stars had a consolation goal in the 25th minutes of the second half but it was Bofoakwa who were determined to win the match and made it three through Baba Sulley for his second goal of the game.
