Body of man retrieved from well

Buoyem (B/A) July 9 (Solomon Naambir) GNA – The decomposed body of a man identified as Sankara Zabrim, 32, has been retrieved from an abandoned well at Buoyem in Techiman Municipality in Brong Ahafo.

It took the police and fire personnel several hours to remove the body.

Superintendent Paul Kojo Gyimpeh, Techiman Municipal Police Commander who disclosed this to Ghana News Agency said the deceased disappeared from his home at Berimpuah, near Buoyem on June 10 this year. He said on July 1, Okomafo Dwamena Akenten, chief of Buoyem was told of an unpleasant scent around the well so he alerted the police, who also brought fire personnel and the body of the deceased was found inside the well.

The Police Commander added that police investigations led to the arrest of Perego Zio, Zabrim’s brother who lived with him. He has been placed in police custody to assist in investigations while the body of Zabrim is awaiting autopsy.
