Body of drowned holiday maker found at Abono

The body of a 21-year old miner, who got drowned in the Bosomtwe Lake during the Easter festivities, was on Tuesday recovered.

Kasim Salifu had gone to the Abono Lake Resort together with friends from Obuasi on Monday to make merry when the disaster struck.

According to a relative, Ali Sadiq, the deceased arrived at the resort at about 1100 hours, took off his clothes and plunged into the lake.

He came out of the water later to chat with his friends but when it was about time for them to return to Obuasi, Salifu could not be traced so a formal report was made to the Police at Kuntanase.

After a 10 minute-search divers pulled his lifeless body from the bed of the lake.

Assistant Superintendent of Police Edward Osei, the Kuntanase District Commander, narrated the story to the Ghana News Agency.**
