Board to investigate Adansi chieftaincy disputes

Akrofuom (Ash), April 28, GNA-The Adansi Traditional Council has established an advisory board to investigate the causes of chieftaincy disputes within the Adansi State, with a view to finding permanent solutions to the problems.

Mr Kwabena Appiah-Pinkrah, Member of Parliament (MP) for Akrofuom, who announced this, said as a first step, the board had formed mediation teams to initiate measures to settle the disputes. Mr Appiah-Pinkrah was speaking at the People’s Assembly held by the Adansi South District Assembly at Akrofuom. He said the installation of divisional chiefs of Dompoase, Akrokerri, Bodwesango, Ayaase and Akrofuom all in Adansi, had been stalled by disputes.

The MP said plans were far advanced to ensure that the youth in the area became financially self-sufficient through pepper farming and the President’s Special Initiative (PSI) on cassava.

Mr D.A.K. Yeboah, acting District Chief Executive for Adansi South, explained that the People’s Assembly was held at Akrofuom instead of New Edubiase as a way of reminding the people that, “Akrofuom has become part and parcel of the district”.

He said the Assembly had implemented a number of projects within four years, including the extension of telephone facilities to New Edubiase, upgrading of the Health Centre in the town into a District Hospital and the construction of an experimental school at New Edubiase.
