Boafo pledges support for new Ashanti Regional Minister

Kumasi, June 26, GNA – Mr Sampson Kwaku Boafo, the outgoing Ashanti Regional Minister, has pledged his support for the new Regional Minister, Mr Emmanuel Asamoah Owusu-Ansah.

He said even though he would no longer serve in the capacity as a Regional Minister, “I will not hesitate to brainstorm with you to find an antidote to problems that impede the region’s development”. Mr Boafo, who is the Member of Parliament (MP) for Subin and now Minister for Chieftaincy and Culture at the office of the President, was speaking at a send-off party organized for him by the Regional Co-ordinating Council (RCC) in Kumasi on Sunday.

Mr Owusu-Ansah, who is the MP for Kwabre West and until his appointment as the Regional Minister, was the Deputy Attorney-General and Minister of Justice.

Mr Boafo cautioned the new Regional Minister to avoid vindictiveness and be transparent in his administration. Mr Owusu-Ansah said he was optimistic that stakeholders in the region’s development would be supportive of his activities to ensure that he succeeded in his endeavours.
