BNI storms Ridge Hospital as over 500 nurses strike

Nurses and some health workers of the Ridge Hospital in Accra have laid down their tools.

The over 556 health workers are protesting the non-payment of their March salaries.

The nurses working as national service personnel confirmed the news to Starr News.

Medical doctors at the hospital say they have been burdened with the duties of the striking nurses.

The strike is also having a toll on health care delivery for patients.

But management of the hospital say they are in talks with the aggrieved nurses to find solutions to the concerns.

Emmanuel Taadi, Head of Administration at the Ridge Hospital in an interview with Starr News said they hope to resolve the situation as soon as possible.

Meanwhile, officials of the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI), have stormed the hospital to help convince the nurses to call off their strike.
