Blood donation exercise organised by Numark Pharmacy

The Numark Pharmacy in Sunyani has commemorated its first anniversary celebration with a blood donation exercise.

Mrs Gifty Konama Hammond, Managing Director of Numark Pharmacy in an interview with the Ghana News Agency, said the exercise was organized to augment existing stocks of blood at various blood banks.

She said the pharmarcy operates a 24- hour service, and thus was always there for their customers.

Mr Ganiwu Abdul, Unit Supervisor of the Brong Ahafo Regional Hospital Blood Bank, who was present to ensure the success of the exercise, said the greatest gift one could give to his neighbour was not money, but blood.

He expressed gratitude to Numark Pharmacy for the gesture on their anniversary celebration.

Mr Amin Mohammed Emmanuel, the Blood Donor Organiser of the Regional Hospital, said there was no danger or side effect to blood donation and described the process as painless and harmless.

He urged members of the public, to always avail themselves to donate blood to save lives and the sustain society.

Over one hundred people came up to donate blood during the eight- hour exercise and most of them expressed their desire and commitment to be part of the celebration and to contribute positively towards saving human lives.
