Blacksmith in custody for possessing Wee

Asamankese (E/R), Sept 28, GNA – The Asamankese Circuit Court has remanded a blacksmith, Robert Forson, for possessing Indian hemp weighing 17 grammes.

Forson pleaded not guilty and was remanded until October 19. Prosecuting, Police Chief Inspector Joseph Idan said Forson was arrested on May 13 on suspicion of unlawful entry and stealing. He said when the Police took him to his room to conduct a search a quantity of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp (Wee) was found. When Forson was asked how he came by the wee, he said he had visitors the previous night and he suspected they might have left the stuff in the room.
