A 21- year- old Blacksmith who is accused of having anal sex with a seven- year old boy at Bubuashie, a suburb in Accra has appeared before an Accra Circuit Court.
Rafique Nana Quansah, charged with defilement, has pleaded not guilty.
The court presided over by Ms Patricia Quansah has admitted the accused person to a bail of GH? 10,000 with two sureties, saying the evidence on record did not support the charge.
It however ordered Rafique to stay away from the complainant and the victim.
The case has been adjourned to December 10.
According to the prosecutor, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Agnes Boafo the complainant is a trader. Both the accused person and the complainant reside at Bubuashie.
The victim is the son of the complainant, the prosecutor said.
ASP Boafo said Rafique is a family friend who normally passes the night with complainant and the victim adding they all sleep on the same bed.
On October 16, this year, at about 11:00pm, the complainant heard an unusual noise so she woke up only to see Rafique having anal sex with the victim.
Prosecution said a report was made to the Police and the victim was sent to the Hospital for examination and treatment.
When accused person was arrested later, he admitted the offence in his caution statement.
