Blacklist Kennedy Agyapong for sponsoring ‘terrorism’ – NDC to international community

The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has served notice that it will soon petition the international community and the diplomatic corps to blacklist the honourable Member of Parliament (MP) for Assin North Constituency, Kennedy Agyapong.

They want a travel ban to be placed on the maverick politician for allegedly sponsoring terrorism in the country.

They see Hon. Agyapong as being the brain behind the activities of the Kumasi based Delta Force, a vigilante group aligned to the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) and which in recent times has consistently appeared in the headlines for allegedly infringing on the rights of some individuals in the former Garden City.

A deputy General Secretary of the NDC, Koku Anyidoho, who disclosed this in an interaction with Fiifi Banson on Kasapa 102.5 FM, Monday, said their plea if accepted and implemented by the international community will help bring an end to the “State sponsored terrorism activities.”

“Ghana as at now has become a laughing stock in the eyes of the international community. So, we are going to petition the international community – somebody like Kennedy Agyapong for instance, must be blacklisted. A travel ban must be placed on him. There must be restrictions on him before Ghana’s name is added to the list of terrorist nations. Kennedy Agyapong must be blacklisted as potential terrorist creator in the country if already he has not begun,” he noted.

In the view of the NDC, if Hon. Kennedy Agyapong is not the one sponsoring the activities of the Delta Force, why would he be ordering for them to be absorbed into the National Security?

“He [Kennedy Agyapong] is the one commanding the National Security to absorb the Invincible and Delta Forces. Since when did the National Security become rubbish dump for rogues and tugs in political parties to go and hide there?” Anyidoho quizzed.

He further told Banson that aside petitioning the international community, the NDC will also appeal to the Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Prof. Aaron Michael Oquaye, to sanction the Assin North MP for continuously breaching the peace the country is enjoying.

Their intended action, he noted, forms part of the mass actions they would embark on after seven days’ time if the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, fails to restore peace and order in the country.
