Accra, Feb. 1, GNA- Professor Nana John Nabila, Member of Council of State on Friday advised the Ghana Black Stars to be cautious, patience and calm on the field of play on Sunday in their encounter with the supper Eagles of Nigeria in the quarter finals of the on-going tournament.
“This is the only way that would help the boys to remain in the competition, avoid attracting unnecessary cards and finally win the game”, he emphasized.
Prof. Nabila said this during the launch of a 208 paged book entitled: “You Cant’ Win The Game without A Game Plan” in Accra. The book, authored by Mr. Obeng G. Busia, Ghana’s Consul General to the USA, who is also a former management member of Ghana Football Association (GFA), is about proposals and prescriptions for the business side of sports management, with particular focus on Ghana. The book is also about football and how best it could be organised to become a sustainable venture in the country and offers solutions that are equally relevant and applicable to the experience of other African countries and humanity as a whole.
Prof. Nabila urged everybody interested in sports and all those in managerial positions to read to the book, which was full of good records and credible accounts.
Sam Nana Brew Butler, former Chairman, GFA who launched the book described “sports as the bedfellow of politics,” saying the only difference was that sports runners became one and supported a national team whose members were selected from various local clubs unlike political individuals.
He praised the author for coming out with the book at a time of the Ghana 2008 tournament and urged all to patronize it.
