Black Stars End Asia Tour Winless After Narrow Defeat to South Korea

Ghana’s Black Stars wrapped up their 2025 Kirin Cup campaign with a second consecutive defeat, falling 1–0 to South Korea on Tuesday. The result means the team ends its Asia tour without a win or even a goal scored.

The Black Stars, who were earlier beaten 2–0 by hosts Japan in their opening match, struggled once again to convert their chances despite a more disciplined defensive display against the Koreans. South Korea’s breakthrough came midway through the second half, punishing a lapse in concentration in the Ghanaian backline.

The defeat prolongs a worrying run of form for the national team, raising fresh questions about cohesion, creativity, and confidence in the final third. Fans had hoped to see signs of progress during the tour, but the two losses have instead highlighted areas that require urgent improvement as Ghana prepares for upcoming World Cup in 2026.
