Black Stars’ Abu Francis Set for Hospital Discharge After Horror Injury in Japan Defeat

Black Stars midfielder Abu Francis is expected to be discharged from hospital on Saturday after suffering a severe injury during Ghana’s match against Japan in the Kirin Cup, according to GFA Communications Director Henry Asante Twum.

Francis was stretchered off after a heavy challenge in the game against Japan in the kirin cup, prompting immediate medical attention and raising concerns over the extent of the damage. The incident cast a shadow over Ghana’s performance, with players visibly shaken by the midfielder’s condition.

Speaking on Friday, Henry Asante Twum confirmed that Francis has been responding well to treatment and will be released from the hospital this weekend. “He is stable and will be discharged on Saturday,” he said, offering reassurance to fans who had feared the worst.

The injury comes at a crucial time for the Black Stars as the team continues preparations for next year’s World Cup. Francis’ recovery timeline is yet to be determined, but officials say further assessments will be carried out once he returns to camp.
