Black Starlets Beat Nigeria To Reach WAFU U-17 Final

Ghana’s U-17 national team, the Black Starlets, have booked their place in the 2026 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco after a commanding 2-0 win over Nigeria in the semi-finals of the WAFU Zone B U-17 Championship.

The young Ghanaians delivered a disciplined performance, striking at crucial moments to edge past their fiercest rivals and secure a spot in both the regional final and next year’s continental showpiece.

The victory not only extends Ghana’s proud history in youth football but also guarantees their return to the U-17 AFCON stage, where they will aim to further showcase the country’s talent pipeline.

The Starlets will now shift focus to the championship final as they chase regional glory, buoyed by their triumph over arch-rivals Nigeria.
