Ghana’s Black Princesses head coach, Charles Sampson, has named a strong 20-player squad for the upcoming WAFU B U20 Girls’ Cup, as the team prepares to compete for regional glory.
The squad features a fine blend of home-based stars and international talent, including Mary Amponsah of Zhejiang Hangzhou Bank in China, who headlines the attacking lineup. She is joined by in-form forwards Ivy Owusu Osei (Dreamz Ladies), Zeinab Haruna (Prisons Ladies), and Frederica Addico (Socrates Ladies FC).
In midfield, Esther Asamoah (Army Ladies) and Linda Owusu Ansah (Ampem Darkoa Ladies) are expected to provide creativity and control, while defensive stability will come from players such as Precious Asante (Dreamz Ladies) and Diana Amoako (Ampem Darkoa Ladies).
The goalkeeping department features Asana Osman (Northern Ladies), Aishetu Awinimi (Ampem Darkoa Ladies), and Grace Andoh (Soccer Intellectuals).
Coach Sampson expressed confidence in his team’s readiness, saying the squad was “carefully selected to reflect the balance, energy, and winning mentality required to excel at this level.”
The Black Princesses, Ghana’s U20 women’s team, will be looking to build on their impressive form from previous tournaments as they chase silverware and regional pride.
