Bishop Obinim is not the owner of Ice TV – Manager

The General Manager of ICE TV, Samuel Owusu Asare has denied claims that General Overseer and Founder of International God’s Way Church, Bishop Daniel Obinim aka Angel Obinim owns the station. He made the denial when he spoke to Agyemang Prempeh on GH Entertainment on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm.

The station he said does not belong to the controversial man of God neither does he [Obinim] have a single share in the station. The station was part of three stations that have had a complaint filed against them by two renowned broadcasters for airing porn on their channels.

He added, the station will soon be launched and when that is done, Ghanaians will know who owns the channel. Meanwhile, entertainment critic and owner of OXY FM, Alfred Larbi has disputed the claims insisting that, the station is owned by Obinim.

He has therefore challenged him to reconsider his position as a man of God and order the porn to be taken off the channel. Two broadcasters, Messrs Tommy-Annan Forson and James Kwasi Oberko, have made a complaint against three television stations in Ghana for showing films with pornographic scenes on their channels.

The two, on Monday, 12th June, 2017, presented their complaint to the National Media Commission and the Ministry of Information against TV XYZ, Ice TV and Thunder TV, for showing these films to their audience.

But the Manager said their audience have provided positive feedback thus until they protest, the TV station will continue to satisfy their viewers’ interest.
