Bishop Lodonu celebrates 30th anniversary as Bishop

Ho, Nov. 3, GNA-Thousands of Catholic faithful on Friday joined the Right Reverend Kofi Anani Francis Lodonu, Bishop of the Ho Diocese to celebrate his 30 years as an indigenous Bishop and 33 years as a Bishop.

The celebration attracted 104 choirs from 20 parishes, including the Minor Basilica Choir from Kumasi and the Ewe Union Choir from Accra.

The “songbirds” sang harmonic songs amidst much jubilation in honour of the Bishop who, 10 years ago was the Catholic Bishop of the Volta Region.

Bishop Lodonu now serves as the Bishop of Ho Diocese and administers 22 parishes and two quasi-parishes. Until recently, he was the Bishop of the Keta/Ho Diocese. In a brief address, Bishop Lodonu urged Catholics not to be swayed off from their faith by globalization and the socio-economic situation of the country. He encouraged them to remain faithful to their leaders and take the celebration as that of the Catholic Church and not of the Bishop’s so that they could grab the blessings that may come with the celebration. Other activities lined-up for the celebration include a durbar to install Bishop Lodonu as the first Indigenous Bishop of the Ho Diocese.
