Takoradi Sept.12,GNA-Most Reverend Dr John Martin Darko, Catholic Bishop of Sekondi-Takoradi, on Sunday launched the centenary celebrations of Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Cathedral Church at Takoradi. The year-long celebrations are under the theme, 93Devote your heart and soul to seeking the Lord your God”.
In a speech, he said politicians could solve most of the country’s problems if they sincerely serve the country without any ulterior motives. He urged politicians to think more of the people instead of thinking of their personal gains.
Bishop Darko asked the people to forgive and love each other irrespective of their political and religious persuasions for the country to stay united and progressive.
He said the Church has come a long way since its establishment and advised the members to sustain it by abiding by the teachings of the Catholic Church and leading godly lives.
Mr. Syriacus Mensah Morrison, chairman of the Planning Committee for the celebrations, said the celebration is one of thanksgiving and renewal of faith.
