The Birim Central Municipal Directorate of Education, says plans are underway to put an end to the shift system in the area to boost the pursuit of education.
Mr Nuamah Ampofo a representative of the Municipal Education Director said the officials have detailed report on the problems posed by school children under the shift system and the Ministry of Education has been notified.
He was speaking at a joint First speech and Prize Giving Day for New Town Presbyterian A and C, Primary School at Akim Oda, on the theme: “Revitalizing the standard of Education – the role of the government, teachers and parents.”
Mr Ampofo said the Ministry would collaborate with the government and stakeholders to help put an end to the system.
Madam Regina Simpson, Headmistress of the school told Ghana News Agency that the school established in 1943 has 620 pupils and 20 teachers despite the shift system.
She asked stakeholders to assist the school with more classrooms.
Mr Johnson Gyekye, Headmaster of Attafuah Senor High Technical school, Akim Oda, entreated administrators of the school to be good management oriented to meet the required quality education.
Prizes were given to best pupils and teachers in the in the school and some individuals.
