Birim Central citizens urged to sustain peace, unity

Akim Oda (E/R), Aug. 25, GNA- Mr. Frank Marcellus K. Busumtwi, Chief Executive for Birim Central Municipal Assembly, on Saturday urged the people to play their roles responsibly to sustain unity and peace in the area.

He gave the assurance that the assembly would not do anything to bring hardships to the people.

Mr. Busumtwi, who made these remarks during an interaction with the media at Akim Oda in the Eastern Region, asked the people to adhere to rules and regulations of the assembly to guarantee the smooth administration and development of the area.

He said keeping the country together in unity should not be the responsibility of the assembly and government alone but a task for all Ghanaians.

Mr. Busumtwi said that the assembly was the umbrella for all the people and organisations in the municipality and that it sought to promote unity, peace and understanding among the people.

He urged Ghanaians to be well-informed about government policies and programmes and “say no to political statements that have the potential of dividing the country.”
